It is always interesting to see the various things that come to Repair Fair. Among the vacuums, irons, blenders and clothing, people also bring in items from a much earlier era filled with family history.
Earlier this year, Richard worked on a 1953 Zenith clock radio.
The owner of the radio told us that her mother had received the radio as an engagement present — she didn’t want a ring. In a published poem entitled Ashes to Ashes, she describes her mother and bits of her life. The Zenith radio had also been a small part for all these decades.
